Squad Trip to Seattle, WA. In July 2021

Travelers

  1. Slab (Des Moines)

  2. Sleeze (Des Moines)

  3. Guaala (Des Moines)

  4. Bagz (Des Moines)

  5. Cam (Des Moines)

  6. Sterlz (Des Moines)

  7. Zell (Des Moines/Dallas)

  8. Dom (FLA)

  9. Dion (ATL)

  10. Kenny (KC)

  11. Po (NYC)

We have two versions of planning. This first one will be if we were to plan and book everything on our own. The second is if we go through a travel agency. I have to call tomorrow and talk to a travel agent about the second plan, so for now let’s focus on the first.

Budget

DSM Boys: $400 for travel + around $200 for spending, activities, and food.

EAST COAST Boys: $500 for travel + around $200 for spending, activities, and food.

Flights + Car:

$300 (if flying from Des Moines) to $400 (if flying from the East Coast)

So idk if it is because of Corona or not, finding flight availability for 11 months out is not possible online - they only give about 10 or so months (unless one of you TSA boys can get the low-down). So these prices are based on a Thursday, June 3rd to Sunday, June 6th schedule, but the prices shouldn’t change as long as we book out at least 5 or 6 months in advance (they may even be cheaper). Something else I am finding is that June is like 50% cheaper than July. So I think it is worth bumping up the trip by a month, but that means we will have to have whatever budget we decide on a month earlier (so still around the end of this year).

It say’s flight and car because If we bundle the flight and the car it’s hella cheaper. So the plan would be that whoever Flies out of Des Moines we bundle a car there, and then I will bundle my trip (or another trip if say Dion and Dom want to both fly out together (meaning one would have an extra trip to get to the other) so we have two cars for the weekend (SUV type so each vehicle has at least 6 seats).

  • Roundtrip Ticket/Car To Seattle From Des Moines - around $300 a person

  • Roundtrip Tickets to Seattle From Florida - around $400 a person

  • Roundtrip Tickets to Seattle From KC - around $400 a person

  • Roundtrip Tickets to Seattle From Dallas - around $400 a person

  • Roundtrip Tickets/Car to Seattle from NYC - around $430 a person

In Summary - the smartest plan would be for Kenny to drive to DSM and fly out from there so you can get their same rates, and then the rate of the flight and car will probably go down a few bucks. Dom and Dion need to fly together. Zell, if you leave from Dallas you are in a similar situation to me, unless you flew to KC and then to Dallas - then we could bundle you and Kenny together (but that depends on where Kenny leaves from). So Kenny is the deciding factor for you (but to be honest, the price won’t change much). And I am screwed ha.

Lodging: About $85

80's Seattle House

This house is 80’s themed, which is kinda weird but could be dope. They allow smoking, 20min south of Seattle. Details:

Super fun three bedroom-one bath daylight basement apartment with private entry & off street parking. Staying here you will get a chance to see the worlds best 80's memorabilia collection! Huge sectional in the living room with 60 inch TV (and awesome 80's movie library!), Donkey Kong & Ms. PacMan! Full kitchen, laundry room, & huge backyard with patio, dining area, & BBQ. 11 miles from the airport & 20 miles south of downtown Seattle. Great park less than a block away,

Activities: $200ish…

So as of now, it seems like the top three choices are: hiking day, cannabis tour day, and to hit a gun range. I have everything else listed so we can still look over everything and figure out what we want.

So the following are some options y’all threw out, and some I thought we may like. But we can discuss and vote on it, so throw some more ideas out and I will put some up.

Seattle Hiking - the dope part about hiking is that it is free.

Mount Rainer Hike - Slab you said Mount Olympus but that is in Salt Lake City, UT. I think you meant this but lemme know if I am wrong.

Cannabis Tour Seattle - 4-8 hour tour of: Visit an active cannabis grow operation; Visit a glass equipment blowing studio; Take a cannabis edibles-making class; Attend a cannabis wine dinner; Visit Seattle’s Waterfront and ride the Great Wheel; Visit the Jimi Hendrix Memorial; Check out the Fremont “Troll Under the Bridge”; Take in the view from the top of the Space Needle; Tour Dale Chihuly’s Glass Art Museum; See downtown Seattle from the water on a 1 hour Lake Union ferry ride; Visit the Seattle Art Museum, Asian Art Museum, or the intimate Frye Art Museum; Enjoy the infamous Seattle Underground Tour (this would be a full day, and probably another $100 but they base the price on what we choose to do from the options, and how many people we have.)

Kenmore Gun Range - closed as of now (to public) but one of the few places I found that has a public option and isn’t members only.

Nate's Wings and Waffles - this is the restaurant Kenny said he was interested in. i feel like this is an easy yes.

Museum of Pop Culture - $6 and looks dope. Can make music and shit

Seattle's Best Nightclubs - hit the bar scene

Dockside Museum - Cannabis Museum

Full Tilt Ice Cream - dope Ice Cream spot

Puff Pass Paint - self-explanatory

Weed Bus Tour - self-explanatory

Cannabis City - Seattle’s first dispensary

We can take a Water Taxi to Alki Beach for a beach day

Pike Place Market - Downtown Seattle farmers market. cultural-ish

South Gater Rollerrink - Maybe y’all can find ladies at the roller rink?

Add A Ball - Arcade Bar

Troll - For a Squad Pic

So for now, look over the activities. See what you like and we can talk about what we want to do. In the meantime, I will talk to a broker and see if they can offer a better deal.
